Setting up a dial-up connection for Windows 98 users
Here are some simple steps to follow designed to help you setup your Kit
Carson Internet access connection using a microsoft windows 98 operating
system. If at anytime you feel unsure of something while setting up your
dial-up connection feel free to call tech support at 758-4838 between
the hours of 8am-6pm and our friendly staff will be happy to assist you.
Internet Connection Wizard
1. From the Start menu, choose Run.

2. In the Open field, type inetwiz.
3. Click the OK button.

4. Select Connect using my phone line.
5. Click the Next button.

6. Make sure the "Use area code and dialing rules" is not checked.
7. In the Telephone number field, type your local access number. For Taos 751-1426, El
Rito 581-4441,
8. Click the Next button.

9. In the User name field, type your full Kit Carson email address (e.g.,
username@kitcarson.net).
10. In the Password field, type your password.
11. Click the Next button.

12. In the Connection name field, type Kit Carson.
13. Click the Next button.

14. Select Yes.
15. Click the Next button.

16. Select Create a new Internet mail account.
17. Click the Next button.

18. In the Display name field, type in your name.
19. Click the Next button.

20. In the E-mail address field, type your full Kit Carson email address (
username@kitcarson.net).
21. Click the Next button.

22. Click the down arrow on the drop-down list and choose POP3.
23. In the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server field, type your incoming
mail server (mail.kitcarson.net)
24. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, type your outgoing mail server
(smtp.kitcarson.net).
25. Click the Next button.

26. In the Account name: field, type your Kit Carson username.
27. In the Password: field, type in your password.
28. Check the box next to Remember password.
29. Click the Next button.

30. Click the Finish button.
