Internet Explorer 6 Problems

Q. I am unable to get to certain websites or not able to surf the web at all. I get the following error message:

"The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings."

A. This is happening to users who are using Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) and are using Windows OS 98/ME/2000/XP.

First try to repair IE6.
Go to the Control Panel - Add-Remove Programs > Highlight Internet Explorer > Click Change-Remove tab > Repair I.E. > OK - Yes

That usually fixes most problems found. Maybe the uninstall skipped over some files that are corrupted thinking they were already installed, and the repair will correct this.

Note: If you get an error message saying it cannot be repaired, redownload and install then run the repair.

If it says cannot repair, you must install IE6 again and then run repair. If you no longer have the setup.exe file, we have a copy on our server. We can copy the necessary files on a cd for you at no charge.
